General Information

A tree with a large trunk branching a few feet off the ground, spreading to form a broad round crown. Leaves are dark green, glabrous, and often convex, 1 to 3 inches long and 3/4 to 2 inches wide. Acorns are around 1 to 1 1/2 inches long with a cap enclosing about 1/3 of the nut. Native to the California coast.
