General Information

A tree with horizontally spreading branches forming a narrow pyramidal crown. The bark is reddish-brown, fibrous, and deeply furrowed, often 4 to 12 inches thick. Leaves are 2-ranked and short-petioled, 1/2 to 3/4 inch long. Cones are ovoid, 1/2 to 1 1/8 inches long, found in clusters at the end of branchlets. Native to coastal California and southern Oregon.
